At Tulsa Public Schools, we want to make sure every one of our students is set up for success as early as possible. Providing access to pre-K is one of the best ways to ensure that.
Research shows students who attend pre-K are better prepared for kindergarten than those who don't. Children who attend high-quality pre-K enter kindergarten with better pre-reading skills, richer vocabularies, and stronger basic math skills than those who do not.
Students who attend pre-K also learn important social skills like teamwork, how to compromise, be respectful of others, communication, sharing, and managing their own feelings.
Pre-K also provides a place where children learn to be independent, confident, and learn how to make decisions and choices for themselves. They also learn how to act in school - how to listen, follow directions, and pay attention.
The experiences and skills students learn in pre-K prepare them to be successful throughout their school careers and in life.
All of our pre-K programs are free and full-day. We encourage families to enroll as soon as possible as seats are limited. There are limited enrollment protections for neighborhood students, siblings of students already at the school, and children of Tulsa Public Schools employees, but only from February 4 - March 31.
